南投縣射箭運動的發展至今已長達36年之久，當中培育出我國許多著名的射箭好手，包含亞奧運獲牌的選手，能有如此亮眼的成績，地方基層的培育功不可沒。研究者本身也出生於南投縣培育之選手，將自己成長家鄉之射箭發展歷程作為研究主題，透過實地至各階段射箭發展之學校蒐集資料、觀察與紀錄，並進行相關人物的深度訪談，最後將資料進行分析整理與詮釋。研究結果為：一、南投縣現代射箭運動發展始於1978年埔里鎮，當時從事射箭活動皆為零星個人，其中以大明書局的老闆黃建德與池瑞清，以及南投縣立宏仁國中體育教師謝學鈞雙方最具代表，至於先後順序已不可考。黃建德等人在1982年成立羽將射箭俱樂部，該團體為南投縣埔里鎮第一個射箭社會團體單位，1984年南投縣體育會射箭委員會正式成立，由謝學鈞擔任總幹事。二、謝學鈞老師擔任總幹事時，同時在自身服務之學校成立射箭隊，為南投第一所射箭發展學校，但謝學鈞老師因病辭世後校方便停止經營。1988年漢城(今稱首爾)奧運代表隊成員胡培文為南投射委會成員，射箭發展受到南投縣政府重視，他退役轉任教練之職，與羽將射箭俱樂部成員林超然老師攜手合作，於南投縣立大成國中成立射箭校隊，射箭活動發展由社會體育轉為學校體育。射箭人才返鄉服務有助於發展，現階段南投成立多所中學重點學校幾乎以體育班培育，除草屯鎮縣立旭光之國、高中部完全中學外，全集中於埔里鎮之大成國中(非體育班)、埔里國中與國立埔里高工。小學僅以社團發展人口有待提升，且南投各校之間、學校與社會組之交流有待加強，以協助訓練體系的完整，創造更多佳績。

In the thirty-six-year history of the archery development in Nantou, many eminent archers have been cultivated, including medal winners at the Asiad and the Olympic Games. The credit for this eminence in the archery development is due to the efforts of local organizations. I, as a researcher in this study, was also an archer cultivated in Nantou County. Hence, in this research, I focus on the history of the archery development of my home town. Data were collected through visiting and observing school archery teams at various education levels. In addition, in-depth interviews with associated personnel were conducted in this research. After analyzing the collected data, the results are as follows:
1. The modern archery sport in Puli Township, Nantou County developed in 1978, when only individuals were involved. The representative figures (not in order of precedence) in this period are Jian-De Huang, the owner of Da-Ming Bookstore, and his friend, Rui-Qing Chi, and a PE teacher in Nantou Hong Jen Junior High School, Hsueh-Chun Hsieh. In 1982, Jian-De Huang and his friends established Yu-Jiang Archery Club, which is the first civil association of archery in Puli Township, Nantou County. In 1984, the Archery Committee of Nantou Athletics Federation was formed, with Hsueh-Chun Hsieh being the first secretary-general.
2. In his term of office of the secretary general, Hsueh-Chun Hsieh set up an archery team in Hong Jen Junior High School, the first school in Nantou to develop the archery sport. Unfortunately, the team was suspended after Hsieh passed away. In 1988, the Seoul Olympic Archery Team member, Pei-Wen Hu, also a member of the Archery Committee of Nantou Athletics Federation, won six gold medals for Nantou County in the National Games. Consequently, the development of archery was emphasized by Nantou County Government. After retiring from athlete, Hu cooperated with a member of Yu-Jian Archery Club, Chao-Ran Lin, to form an archery team in Nantou Da Cheng Junior High School. Since then, the field where the archery sport developed has been changed from the civil society to school. The fact that talented archers return to their home town as coaches benefits local development of archery. At the present stage, key-schools for archery development in Nantou were set up, and most of the student archers are cultivated in athletic classes. Except for Nantou Shiuhkuang Senior High School in Tsao Tun Township, all the student archers are from Puli Township. For example, Da Cheng Junior High School (non-athletic classes), Puli Junior High School, and National Puli Vocational High School. On the other hand, the participation rate of archery at elementary level needs to be promoted since there are only few clubs existed. It is suggested that in order to complete the archery training system and achieve better performances in archery, the communication needs to be improved among various school archery teams in Nantou County, and also between school teams and teams beyond schools.
