You need to prepare two PDF files:
The approval form must be signed by the advisor(s) and all committee members and dated.
You should reach out to your department or advisor for guidelines on the specific formatting requirements, such as margins, spacing, typeface, referencing style, and other elements.
If not required by your department, the following guidelines could be followed:
• The thesis version you submit should be reviewed and approved by your advisor.
• Please do NOT include the signed approval form in your thesis PDF.
• Please do NOT put any sensitive information in your thesis.
• After converting your thesis to PDF, it is essential to thoroughly review the entire document to ensure the accurate conversion of all sections and their arrangement. Pay attention to images and graphs, as they may be affected during the conversion process.
• Page numbering must appear in the following order:
Preliminary pages:
This section uses lowercase Roman numerals for page numbers (i, ii, iii, etc.)
Main text (required), Bibliography (required), Appendices (optional)
The body of your thesis uses Arabic numerals for page numbers (1,2,3, etc.), starting from page 1, and make sure that the page numbers are consistently placed throughout the entire document.
IMPORTANT: Please do not contain any personal information such as addresses or private phone numbers.
Please upload your thesis as early as possible. This will allow you to have ample time to deal with any potential situations before the deadline.
How to upload your electronic thesis/dissertation:
1. Go to https://etds.lib.ntnu.edu.tw/ and log in with your NTNU account.
2. Input related information into the ETD system.
3. Upload (1) your thesis PDF file and (2) approval form.
The library will review the submission to ensure that the uploaded information matches the content of the PDF document.
The library takes at least three working days (excluding holidays) to review your thesis/dissertation. It advises that if there is an urgent need, it is recommended to submit your thesis in advance. If you have any questions, please contact us via email at: etd@deps.ntnu.edu.tw
When your thesis/dissertation has been successfully reviewed, you will receive a confirmation letter. If you haven't received any reply within 3 days (excluding holidays), please log in to the ETD system to check the status of your submission.
To complete the leaving procedures, please follow the steps below:
1. Prepare two printed copies of your thesis/dissertation (with watermark).
When your thesis/dissertation has been successfully reviewed, it will be automatically embedded with watermarks.
To download the watermark PDF file and authorization form, follow these steps:
(1) Log in to the ETD System.
(2) Click the "Step 5" tab.
(3) Download and save your thesis/dissertation PDF file and authorization form.
2. Print out the authorization form and sign your name.
3. The two printed copies of the thesis/dissertation should include the authorization form and approval form, and both forms should be bound after the title page.
Binding order:
front cover > blank page > title page > authorization form (without page number) > approval form (without page number and watermark) > other preliminary pages > main text > references/appendices > blank page > back cover

If not required by your department, the following guidelines could be followed:
Before you leave, there are a few things you need to do:
1. Complete the leaving procedures of the department first.
2. Pay off any overdue books and fines.
3. Submit (1) two printed copies of your thesis/dissertation and (2) one signed original authorization form to the library.
