本研究欲瞭解離婚女性案主在諮商中所經驗到的改變為何？她的自我在諮商中如何重新建構？以及在這個諮商建構過程中所反映出有關社會文化的意義又是些什麼？
研究者透過願意參與研究的諮商員，在服務的機構中徵求有意願參與研究的個案，並採取質化研究設計，參與研究者是一名四十多歲的離婚女性，已離婚約四年，因對自己因為算命產生的情緒感到不解而尋求諮商協助，接受六次短期諮商；諮商員是一名女性，採取薩提爾諮商模式取向。本研究共計蒐集案主接受六次短期諮商逐字稿、每次諮商完畢後的人際歷程回憶訪談及六次諮商結束後的訪談的資料，進行內容分析，描繪出一名離婚女性在諮商中自我改變的描述文。
研究結果發現案主在諮商過程中是以自我發展為主軸進行改變，並出現有關的社會文化意義。
根據本研究的結果與發現，本研究中的離婚女性有強烈的自我成長需求，藉由諮商的協助，案主的自我認定更加清楚，自我意識更加堅定，同時出現新的行為與人際互動方式，但在過程中，案主是掙扎於傳統社會文化的期待與規條中，社會文化中對女性與離婚婦女的偏見是存在且具有壓抑性的，同時，諮商的信賴關係與有關的做法及信念，對於案主的改變是有催化效果的，研究者針對上述各點提出討論，最後並於文末提出建議要點。

The purposes of this research were to explore the change a divorced woman experienced, the way she reconstructs herself as well as the social-cultural significance reflected during the counseling process.
With the help of the counselor, the researcher found the participant for this research and designed a qualitative research. The participant was a female in the forties. She divorced four years ago. The reason why she looked for help was her curiosity caused by the strong emotion toward what the fortuneteller said. Then, she received counseling for six times. The counselor was a female. She used Satir Model as her counseling approach. The transcripts of the six counseling dialogues, Interpersonal Process Recall interview with the client in each counseling, and interview after counseling were collected. The collected data were analyzed by using content analysis and the description of the self-change of the woman was presented.
The finding of this research indicated that the main change occurred along the axis of self-development and the concerning meanings of the social-cultural dimensions were revealed.
According to the results and finding in this research, the participant showed the strong need of self-growth. Her self-identification got clearer and self-conscience grew stronger through counseling. Meanwhile, her new behaviors and the ways of dealing with her relationship were formed. However, the client struggled against the constraint by the traditional female roles. The pressure from society and culture did exist and was quite oppressive. And, the trust relationship in counseling and counselor's strategies and the theoretical background facilitated the client's change process. The detailed discussion about the topics mentioned above and some suggestions were given.
