本研究旨在暸解台北市高齡者的發展任務，並探討發展任務與社會人口變項間之關係及其因應方式。首先經由文獻分析，對相關的理論基礎與研究進行探討，並歸納出高齡者的發展任務；其次，以自編的「高齡者發展任務及因應方式調查問卷」進行調查，並收回有效問卷 544份。調查所得資料經由統計分析，獲致以下結論：一、高齡者的發展任務包括六項；二、高齡者對於發展任務各層面的重視程度有所差異；三、高齡者的社會人口變項與其發展任務有關；四、高齡者較常採用「問題導向」的因應方式解決其發展任務；五、面對發展任務時，高齡者的因應方式與社會人口變項有關。本研究並根據上述研究結論，對老年人本身與高齡者教育及輔導機構提出具體建議，以供參考。

The purpose of this study was to understand the developmental tasks of older adults in Taipei, as well as the relationships between developmental tasks and demographic variables and how they were coping with them. First of all, literacy review was applied to understand those underlying theoriesand related studies, and to sum up the developmental tasks of older adults. Second, the questionnaire of "The Developmental Tasks and Coping Strategies of Older Adults", developed by the researcher, was used to survey the opinions of the older people in Taipei. 544 responses were received.The results of the survey were described as follows:(1)The developmental tasks of older adults consisted six items.(2)The importance of each developmental task is different.(3)The demographic variables were related to the developmental tasks of older people.(4)The "Problem-Focused" coping was more often used to resolve the developmental tasks by older adults.(5)Older adults' coping strategies were related to their demographic variables. Based on the finding and conclusions, this study provided some suggestions for gerontology educational and counseling institution for better service quality.
