韋伯雖然有許多著名的協奏曲以及歌劇，但他所做的兩首交響曲，在各大音樂會或研究論文中並未受到重視，不管是國內外的演出或是各大學術研究期刊，幾乎找不到任何的資料。筆者希望透過《第二號交響曲》的研究，近一步了解如此藴涵優雅旋律的美麗作品為何不受青睞。在只有少量資料可以作為研究的前提下，筆者必須先從韋伯背景、前古典時期音樂風格、創作手法著手，再透過樂曲分析進行研究，並藉由與雙鋼琴排練，探討其詮釋方法。

Weber was well known for his great output of many concerti and operas, but his two symphonies were not programmed as frequently in the concert stages or appeared in scholarly researched papers. One meets great challenges in finding related resources through academic libraries, research publications and video and sound recordings. This writer hopes through the research of Weber’s "Symphony No. 2", more exposure and attention would shower this beautiful and elegant symphony. Under the circumstance that very limited information was available for the research, this thesis starts with covering Weber’s formative and life backgrounds, discussing the pre-classical period of musical styles, and the musical analysis of the composition, and hands-on conducting and rehearsing with two pianos for this symphony, into exploring the musical interpretation and conducting skills.
