  • 本研究透過質性研究的方式,針對兩個家庭中的父母以及資優生本人進行深入訪談與觀察,探討雙親在資優生生涯發展中所扮演的角色,父母對其子女生涯發展的看法與作法,以及雙親詮釋家庭的意義。
    心頤是家中的老二,父母都採取比較開放的管教方式與朋友般的方式和心頤相處。至於雙親的角色,父親較常扮演引導與提供建議者、提供訊息者、輔導者等角色,母親則常扮演日常生活照顧者、活動安排與實際訓練者。雙親對其生涯發展抱持彈性的看法,希望她能突破女性角色的限制。並希望孩子能自我充實。在其生涯發展的作法,則包括對其生涯上的支持、提供建議與引導,以及對其行為的輔導、提供必要的協助與資訊。在詮釋家庭的意義上,父母強調早期親子互動與良好的家庭環境及氣氛的重要性,而父母也認為家庭只是提供一個良好的環境,得以讓孩子健全的發展。
    明澤是家中長男,所以母親也比較費心照顧與訓練,而父親較常扮演生活習慣管教者、輔導者與引導提供建議者,母親則扮演日常照顧者、課業督導者、行為管教者、活動安排與實際訓練等吃重的角色。父母對他生涯發展的看法會希望他能選擇理論與實用兼顧的科系,對他以後的發展與自我充實都很關心。至於生涯發展上會加以引導、提供建議,在行為上會加以督導與管教。而父母認為家裡早期提供充足的刺激很重要,父母教育知識的充實也會有幫助。
    此外,角色也隨著孩子的成長而有所變化,因此會根據研究結果加以討論,並以孩子未來發展的角度來省思,作為個人的啟示,以及一些研究上的建議供讀者參考。

    This essay was on the role parents played in the career development of their gifted, children, what they saw and did and how they interpreted the definition of family. The qualitative research study, was based on in-depth observation and interview of two gifted students and their parents.
    Hsin-Yi was the second child in her family. Hsin-Yi's parents educated her openly, and treated her like a friend more than a little daughter. As to the roles of parents, Hsin-Yi's father was usually a guide and a information provider; her mother took care of her daily life, arranged her activities and gave her proper training. Hsin-Yi's parents held flexible view of her career development. They hoped not only that Hsin-Yi would break the confine of a traditional female role, but also that she would strengthen her ability constantly. They tried their best to provide support, advice, information and counseling to assist Hsin-Yi's career development and to guide her behavior in the right way. On the interpretation of family, Hsin-Yi's parents emphasized on the importance of early interaction between parents and children, and an amicable family environment and atmosphere. They also thought what a family could do with children's career development was to provide desirable surroundings which could help children grow and develop healthily.
    Ming-Tzer was the first son in his family, so his mother paid much attention to taking care of and training him. His father usually undertook the task of disciplining Ming-Tzer for habits, and sometimes he would be the counselor and adviser. His mother played multiple parts in Ming-Tzer's career development such as a caretaker of daily life, a supervisor of academic performance and behavior, an arranger of activities, and a trainer of conducts. Ming-Tzer's parents anticipated that he would choose his college major which was as practical as theoretical, and were much concerned about his future development and self-enhancement. They would provide Ming-Tzer guidance and suggestion for career development; they would also give him supervision and discipline. Ming-Tzer's parents thought that it was significant for family to offer sufficient stimulation. The abundance of parents' educational knowledge would help as well.
    Besides, the role which parents of the gifted played in their children's career development would change with the growth of the gifted. Thus, this thesis discussed and introspected by the researcher on the view of future development of children. According to the findings, there were personal inspiring conclusions, and some suggestions proposed for reader's reference.
