This study explores the impact of governance mechanisms on decision efficiency in decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). It analyzes the operational methods of decentralized independent organizations on the blockchain. Focus on the governance mechanisms in various aspects such as decision-making, oversight, rewards, fund management, and organizational members. The paper provides an overview of the concept of DAOs, emphasizes the importance of governance structures, and discusses significant organizations and events in developing DAOs. It specifically examines the governance mechanisms of three case studies, namely Nouns DAO, ApeCoin DAO, and Uniswap. Analyze their strengths and weaknesses, and how governance mechanisms influence the efficiency, transparency, and organizational trends of DAOs.
By comparing the governance mechanisms of different cases and analyzing their respective strengths and weaknesses, the study examines how these mechanisms impact the efficiency, transparency, and organizational trends of DAOs. The research findings indicate that there is no direct relationship between the number of proposals and the governance mechanisms. Instead, it is influenced by the overall community atmosphere. Additionally, there can be a trade-off between efficiency and the decentralized philosophy. Finally, in the organizational structure of DAOs, the aggregation of consensus is particularly crucial. If an organization lacks a common purpose or central ideology, the consensus and organizational direction can easily be questioned by members.
In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the governance mechanisms of different DAOs, examining their impact on decision efficiency, transparency, and organizational trends. The insights gained from this research will contribute to a better understanding and application of the potential of DAOs in the blockchain domain. The study concludes by offering recommendations for future research to further deepen our understanding of DAO governance structures.
