The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between time perspective, savoring, and flourishing among adults on both sides of the Taiwan Strait (Mainland China and Taiwan), using the place of permanent residence as the background variable. A total of 731 adults aged 18–60 who had resided in Mainland China and Taiwan for the past six months were included in this study. The selected research instruments were the Time Perspective Inventory, the Savoring Scale, and the Flourishing Scale. The Pearson Correlation and Structural Equation Model were used as the main analysis method. The results of this study revealed that: Past positive, present hedonistic, future positive, and future negative time perspectives are all significantly and positively correlated with savoring and flourishing. Negative past and present fatalistic time perspectives are significantly and negatively correlated with flourishing. Savoring is significantly and positively correlated with flourishing. Balanced time perspective indirectly affects flourishing through the mediating effect of savoring. Savoring of Mainland adults have a higher positive effect on flourishing than Taiwanese adults. Mainland adults have a higher degree of balanced time perspective, savoring and flourishing than Taiwanese adults. Compared with adults in Taiwan, mainland adults have a higher degree of positive time perspective, and a lower degree of past negative, present hedonistic, present fatalistic, future negative time perspectives. Based on the above results, this study further analyzed and discussed in order to provide further references for future research and practical work.
