With the prosperity and development of society, and the improvement of economic levels, the pursuit of "beauty" has led to a growing demand for professionals in the beauty industry. This study focuses on the demand in the nail industry. Through in-depth interviews with various stakeholders, including nail technicians, industry experts, consumers, and nail product suppliers, we aim to fully understand the core competencies required by nail technicians, such as professional techniques, communication skills, customer service levels, hygiene standards, and creativity. We also explore the qualities needed when dealing with different types of clients, such as patience, attention to detail, and creativity.
To enhance the professional abilities and personal qualities of nail technicians, a training program will be designed based on literature review and stakeholder interviews. This program will include training courses on professional techniques, simulated exercises, and professional certification programs. Additionally, we will employ scenario-based learning methods to help nail technicians practice and improve their communication skills by designing specific service scenarios, enabling them to effectively meet the needs of different clients and accurately convey their ideas and suggestions. Through these specific training activities, nail technicians will not only enhance their professional skills but also strengthen their ability to handle various client situations, promoting their career development and competitiveness in the nail industry.
The main findings of the study can be summarized as follows:
1. Establishing the core competencies and personality traits that nail technicians should possess and providing guiding recommendations to meet the needs of industry development.
2. Combining situational theory for training and development, we aim to help nail technicians fully utilize their personal strengths, enhance core competencies, and develop corresponding personality traits, thereby improving their professional standards.
3. Integrating the latest nail trends and technologies, providing career development plans for nail technicians, offering continuous learning and growth directions, thus promoting the development of the entire nail industry.
Nail technicians need to continuously improve their core competencies, leverage their personal qualities, undergo ongoing professional training, and develop clear career plans in order to stand out in the competitive nail industry and make positive contributions to the industry's development. This research will provide valuable guidance and support for nail technicians, helping them better meet customer needs and improve the overall image and competitiveness of the industry.
