This study is discuss apply usability evaluation on library website, and use National Taiwan Normal University library website for case study. By using task oriented usability testing, think aloud method, system usability scale, observation, and in-depth interview to acquire data. Trying to figure out the difference of usability problem between different disciplines, and discovering website usability problem of NTNU library website, then revise the website usability problem and re-evaluation.
The results shows there are some difference between different disciplines, and result of re-evaluation shows the user by using revised website which average time costs decrease 56%, system usability satisfaction of revised website is obviously better than original one and all the users can successfully finish the tasks. We believed in doing usability evaluation of university library can truly raise user performance and system usability satisfaction.
Four suggestions were proposed: First, website design should focus on user's view. Second, websites should provide service for different characters. Third, there should have more direct communication channel between website and users. Fourth, websites should use as well as an extension channel.
