本實務報告主旨在說明做為一位貝利茲語言機構新手線上華語教師的我,初任職於貝利茲語言機構的三個月間,藉由我實踐貝利茲教學法系統化教學流程的實作歷程之反思,包含檢視貝利茲教學法因應成人教育學理論之成人學習特性,以及反思我在教學時所面對之挑戰及回應方式和態度。藉由教學反思,我如何調整我的教學。期待以我的報告,能帶給對貝利茲教學法、成人線上華語教學及藉著教學反思提升教學之教師能有所助益。
本研究主要探討研究目的為(一)闡述現今貝利茲教學法之系統化教學流程於成人線上華語課程之實踐。(二)探究貝利茲教學法因應成人學習者學習特性之現況。(三)我由貝利茲教學法之實踐過程,以Schön的反思理論為基礎,並以Gibbs之反思循環架構,進行教學歷程之反思。
透過教學反思,研究結果顯示在實踐貝利茲教學法時,除了採用貝利茲教學法之系統化教學流程之外,更需藉由因應不同成人學習者特性,觀察學生於課堂中之反應,適時調整教學。貝利茲教學法雖有系統化流程之設計,也非常具有彈性。在貝利茲教學法操作程序中,也顯現出針對成人教育理念設計之原則。研究結果也顯示,身為新手貝利茲線上華語教師的我,透過教學反思,我能逐步調整自己的教學方式及教學觀念,進而能在華語教學領域能有所成長。
This study examines the first three months of my teaching at Berlitz, through a new teacher’s perspective. Through my teaching, I reflected on the efficacy of the Berlitz Method. I also examined how the Berlitz Method affirms the andragogy assumptions. The study shows what challenges I encountered when implementing the Berlitz Method’s teaching cycle online, and how I overcame those challenges.
This study discusses three areas of teaching Mandarin Chinese to adult learners online. First, the current practice of the Berlitz Method. Second, the Berlitz Method in facilitating adult learners’ learning attributes. Thirdly, I conduct my teaching reflection based on Schön’s reflection theory and combine with Gibbs’ reflective cycle.
The Berlitz Method can facilitate adult student learning. The findings suggest that in order to best implement the Berlitz Method when teaching adult learners online, a flexible and adjustable approach needs to be performed based on observation of the individual students. By reflecting on teaching experiences, a new teacher is able to grow further in his/her teaching career.
