新生代印度板塊碰撞聚合歐亞板塊以來,整個亞洲大陸的地殼變形始終不曾間斷。上個世紀,東亞地體的演化以碰撞-脫逸模式為主軸,所以紅河剪切帶這個板塊邊界成為整個研究的重心。到了這個世紀,下部地殼流體模式與地震剪力波分離模式逐漸取代碰撞-脫逸模式的地位,所以戰場也轉移到東亞塊體旋轉的東部邊界:鮮水河-小江、奠邊府剪切帶。過去學者對鮮水河-小江、奠邊府剪切帶的研究一直侷限在測地學上,直到近年來才有學者加上定年資料加以討論。本研究從鮮水河-小江、奠邊府剪切帶大地構造數據資料推論變形歷史,更嘗試以懷氏法與Rf/ψ得到的結果比對下部地殼流體模式以及地震剪力波分離模式。
從葉理分析得知,鮮水河-小江剪切帶構造史可以分為五期:第一期(D1),鮮水河區域受東北-西南向的應力,大約相當於60Ma.印度板塊碰撞歐亞大陸板塊初期;第二期(D2),大約在30~40Ma.鮮水河區域應力轉成東-西向;第三期(D3),鮮水河區域受逆衝斷層作用影響,使得同斜褶皺轉變成偃臥褶皺;第四期(D4),下部地殼產生塑性流動,驅使鮮水河剪切帶產生左移運動;第五期(D5),鮮水河剪切帶因持續左移運動作用帶動拉張盆地形成正斷層。奠邊府剪切帶構造歷史分為以下三期:第一期(D1),大約在60Ma.受到東-西向應力產生同斜褶皺;第二期(D2),約為30~40Ma.受西北-東南向應力產生偃臥褶皺;第三期(D3),西北-東南向應力持續作用,產生同斜褶皺。
由懷氏應變分析結果得知:鮮水河-小江剪切帶符合下部地殼流體模式,且為地震剪力波分離模式中的耦合;奠邊府剪切帶不符合下部地殼流體模式且為地震剪力波分離模式中的非耦合。再由Rf /ψ應變分析結果得知:鮮水河-小江剪切帶符合下部地殼流體模式,且為地震剪力波分離模式中的耦合;奠邊府剪切帶也符合下部地殼流體模式,但是完全不符合地震剪力波分離模式。
