本研究以臺北市公立國民中學、完全中學國中部擔任生物、理化、地球科學與生活科技之正式教師為對象，目的在瞭解教師資訊行為的現況，並探討網際網路以及國民中學學校圖書館、在教師資訊尋求過程中，所發揮的功能。本研究採用自編的「臺北市國民中學自然與生活科技教師資訊行為調查問卷」為調查工具，由十二個行政區，分層隨機抽取十九個學校，針對擔任自然與生活科技領域教師總共發出問卷334份，回收問卷為288份，問卷的結果以ＳＰＳＳ 8.01 for windows電腦統計套裝程式，進行資料分析。
研究結果發現教師從事教學及教學相關活動時，以「補充課外相關資料」情境產生的資訊需求動機為最多：面對九年一貫新課程，最感到需要資訊內容是「創新的教學方法」，尋求資訊的途徑，以「上網尋求網路資源」最常使用，網路上搜尋資料的方式，以「利用入口網站上的搜尋引擎」為最高，使用網際網路（WWW）所遭遇的最大困難，以「搜尋到不相關的網頁資訊太多，花太多時間在篩選可用的資訊」為最多。網路上能配合教學需求的資訊型態，以圖片檔最需要。
在差異性比較發現：（1）教師的性別在資訊需求動機上有顯著的差異性；（2）教師的年齡與網路資訊素養有顯著的差異性；（3）教師的任教年資與網路資訊素養有顯著的差異性；（4）教師登記科別和九年一貫新課程資訊需求、資訊尋求途徑、網路資訊素養上有顯著差異性。
根據研究結果，提出下列建議：
一、教育主管單位方面：
（一）健全國中圖書館組織與編制。
（二）加強現任教師在職專業進修。
（三）評鑑、獎勵及整合優質網站。
（四）設立自然與生活科技教學網站。
二、學校行政單位方面：
（一）設立領域辦公室加強同領域教師溝通、對話、聯繫。
（二）建立資訊能力證照制度，落實資訊融入教學。
（三）依據教師不同需要，舉辦資訊素養進修。
（四）建構便利的網路使用環境，以利網路教學。
三、自然與生活科技教師方面：
（一）加強教師資訊檢索能力。
（二）整合教學網站，並加以分類。
（三）結合校內外資源，充實資訊素養。
四、國民中學學校圖書館的經營方面：
（一）設置教學資源中心，以配合九年一貫教育改革的需求。
（二）依照七大學習領域蒐集教學參考網站，提供教師設計課程之需要。
（三）加強圖書館的服務及行銷觀念，以吸引教師利用圖書館。
（四）加強各級圖書館館際合作，提高資訊的流通。

This study aims to explore the information behavior of Natural Science and Living Technology teachers. Data were collected from information seeking questionnaires sending to 334 stratified sampling teachers in Taipei, with a total of 288 valid ones returned. Statistical analysis showed that these teachers’ information seeking motivations were primarily aroused by the context of supplementing extracurricular materials. Innovated teaching methods were the most needed information contents when the nine-year integrated curriculum is implemented. The most frequently used channel of information sources was seeking information on the Web, and teachers tended to search information by using the search engines on the portal sites. The image file best meeted the teachers’ teaching needs, but information filtering was found to be the most difficult problem. Analysis also shows that there exists a significant relationship between the teachers’ individual differences (in terms of gender, age, teaching experiences and disciplines) and their information seeking behavior.Recommendations for teacher training were also provided.
