本研究的目的在於了解台灣女性在女性意識發展歷程中的經驗，受到那些因素的影響，以及社會文化在其中扮演的角色，期待能找出讓女性個人、以及整個社會朝向更自由、更平等的理想前進的力量和方向。
本研究採質的研究中之生命故事研究法，首先以非結構的深度訪談方式，對三位女性主義者進行訪談，獲得受訪者對自己女性意識發展歷程的敘說。將訪談內容轉謄為文字稿後，依敘說分析的方法，分析每位受訪者敘說的內容，再以分析完成的訪談資料，參考訪談日誌，加入研究者個人的了解和解釋，分別寫出三位受訪者的生命故事，並整理出每位受訪者女性意識發展歷程的綜合描述和分析圖。
接著，針對三位受訪者女性意識發展歷程中相似的情況進行討論如下：
一、影響女性意識發展歷程的背影因素有：(一)原生家庭的背景；(二)父母親對性別角色的概念；(三)教育程度的介入；(四)接觸女性自覺的可能性。
二、女性意識發展歷程中的內涵為：(一)始於生活經驗中知覺到不平等的存在；(二)生存與超越的力量；(三)資源和

The purpose of this study was to understand the process of feminist consciousness development in Taiwanese women, the factors associated with feminist consciousness development and the roles that society and culture played in the process.
In-depth interviews were conducted to collect three feminists' (ages above 30)description of their experience of feminist consciousness development. The interview data was transcribed carefully and analyzed by the narrative analysis methods. Then three life stories were written based on the analysed data and the researcher's interpretation of it.
