The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of positive and negative emotions on creativity, and the regulatory effect of executive function on the impact of positive and negative emotions on creativity. The independent variable is the three groups of positive, negative and neutral emotions, and the dependent variable is the expression of creativity. The experiment has 95 participants. The research procedure consisted of four stages, which were completed in two sessions: the first stage was the induction of emotions. The experiment arousal participants’ experience to induce the positive and negative emotions, and then complete the PANAS test. The second stage is to complete the DFT; the third stage is to induce positive and negative emotions, and complete the PANAS test again; and the fourth stage is to complete the Chinese executive function test (Simon Test and Running Span Test). Research results show that the manipulation of positive and negative emotion groups achieved the expected results. The updating ability had a significant impact on design flexibility, design originality and design fluency. In terms of the moderating effect of executive function, the updating ability of the positive emotion group has a significant moderating effect on design originality. The results of this study provide important insights into issues related to positive and negative emotions and creativity among junior high school students. The results show that executive function(updating) effectively regulates the positive and negative emotions generated by individuals due to situations. In the future, attention should be paid to students' emotional regulation., create a positive learning atmosphere, cultivate students' creative potential, and enable them to achieve their best learning results.
