小提琴音樂的發展，從巴洛克時期的柯雷里、韋瓦第，到如今二十一世紀，已經有四百餘年的歷史。在這歷史洪流中，名家輩出，各有所長，也留下許多精彩的小提琴作品。如今，小提琴技巧從音階、琶音等音群，或是抖音、顫音等技巧，或者是雙音、和弦及左手撥弦，又或是拋弓、頓弓、跳弓……可謂多采多姿，也讓小提琴學習者有諸多的挑戰。尤其浪漫派時期，「炫技名家」興起，有許多小提琴演奏家以高超技術聞名於世，而在這之中，有一些演奏者不僅有高超技巧，且有作曲長才，留下技巧與音樂性兼具的代表性名作，成為如今小提琴演奏者的必備曲目。在十八、十九世紀之交，小提琴的炫技名家以義大利的帕格尼尼為代表，他的小提琴技巧在當時馳名全歐洲，也影響了後世許多音樂家、演奏家。在他的作品中，又以《二十四首小提琴隨想曲》為代表作，此作品有著高超技巧的挑戰，也兼具音樂性的內涵，因此本論文將以此套作品為研究對象，並從中選取若干首來做分析。
本論文第一章為研究動機、範圍與方法，筆者先提出研究此論文之動機，並定下研究之範圍，敘述研究之方法；第二章則參考中、西文書目，詳細敘述作曲家生平及作品，並分析弦樂器炫技名家興起之背景；第三章將以樂曲分析角度切入，力求客觀，研究作品之曲式、和聲等；第四章筆者則從實務經驗出發，從技巧、音樂性兩層面切入，提出筆者之詮釋方法與技巧練習方式；第五章則歸納前面幾個章節而做總結。
