The research which primarily adopted employees of hotels in Taiwan as model investigated the relationship of work-family conflict, family-work conflict, mental health and happiness; furthermore, taking neuroticism in Big Five Model as the moderate variable, it investigated the moderate effects neuroticism toward work-family conflict, family-work conflict and mental health.
Survey was carried out by using convenience sampling method. A total of 379 valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed with descriptive statistics analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple hierarchical regression statistics.
According to the result, happiness could be concluded into five factors which were“harmony”,“joy”,“beautiful life”,“consideration”, and“optimism”by using factor analysis. The results were summarized as follows:
1.Work-family conflict had significantly related to mental health.
2.Neuroticism moderated the effects of family-work conflict on mental health.
3.Work-family conflict was found to be negatively associated with harmony, beautiful life, and consideration; family-conflict was negatively related to beautiful life and optimism.
4.Mental health was found to be positively associated with harmony, joy, beautiful life, consideration and optimism.
5.Mental health had intervening effect on work-family conflict and harmony, beautiful life, consideration.
