  •   面對數位閱讀時代的來臨,電子書的使用與版面呈現一直是令人詬病的議題,這些議題可能涵蓋了硬體、軟體、版式與格式等面向,故本研究期望藉由從使用者的偏好來探討中文電子書版式設計及閱讀軟體之問題。期望研究發現有助於電子書的設計與推廣。

      本研究採質性取向,研究對象徵選15位大專院校的學生與碩士生,以立意取樣為主。研究工具選用iPad平板電腦、7個閱讀軟體與12本中文電子書。研究方法以訪談法進行資料蒐集,並搭配17個情境任務給予受訪者執行。每一任務完成後,將會針對此任務之目的進行一次訪談,屬任務導向的訪談。之後將訪談錄音資料轉譯成逐字稿語料,並選用Microsoft OneNote 2010分析工具進行編碼。

      研究結果發現,以軟體部分而言,(一)使用者閱讀偏好之軟體介面:1.使用者不排斥書架式、清單式、單本式的視覺化書籍目錄。2.使用者偏好軟體介面能遵守簡潔與美觀的原則。3.使用者偏好功能圖示淺顯易懂,以及希望統一所有軟體的圖示符號。4.使用者偏好下載進度的呈現方式是既生動可愛又可具參考性。5.使用者偏好於書籍與全螢幕之閱讀模式,但不偏好於捲視模式;(二)使用者閱讀偏好之軟體功能:1.使用者偏好功能個人化。2.使用者偏好功能的服務完整性。3.使用者偏好功能具有加值性。4.使用者偏好功能的使用與實際閱讀行為做結合。5.使用者不排斥卷軸式、等比式與指令式的調整模式,但希望能給予預覽模式以助調整版面;(三)使用者閱讀偏好之軟體類型:1.使用者偏好各閱讀軟體與電子書平台能整合,避免每次需重新適應與使用。2.使用者不喜歡操作以桌用電腦為服務對象的閱讀軟體。

      以版式部分而言,(一)使用者閱讀偏好之文字與段落設計:1.使用者偏好閱讀的連貫性,所以文字設計需保持一致性,段落設計需有適當的空白間距。2.使用者偏好每頁給予適當的內容乘載量。3.使用者偏好黑體字適用於電子書。4.使用者偏好段首設計依書籍類型或設計理念而定;(二)使用者閱讀偏好之色彩設計:1.使用者偏好根據主題給予適當的顏色認知。2.使用者偏好版面呈現以深色字搭配暖色系的背景。3.使用者偏好超連結的顏色比一般超連結的藍色還深。4.圖片色彩影響電子書的閱讀意願;(三)使用者閱讀偏好之內容設計:1.使用者偏好圖文位置以不打擾閱讀連貫性為主。2.使用者偏好圖與文的位置要有連結關係。3.使用者偏好高品質與較大的圖片。4.使用者偏好直橫書的欄位劃分需考量閱讀的節奏與字數多寡。5.使用者希望內容的版式設計能因應載具的手持方式。6.使用者偏好章節標題的設計依書籍類型而定。7.使用者偏好書眉的設計可更加多元。8.使用者偏好用字數多寡與不同版式元素之設定,辨別強調文與引文之差異。

      以格式部分而言,(一)使用者閱讀偏好之不同的檔案格式:1.PDF與EPUB格式特性會影響使用者進行版面調整的使用行為偏好。2.使用者認為PDF和EPUB各有其優劣,取決於內容呈現之不同需求。3.使用者偏好版面內容可依據PDF與EPUB格式特性來選擇書籍類型的製作;(二)使用者閱讀偏好之電子書內容型態:1.使用者反映閱讀動態內容容易讓閱讀失去方向。2.使用者偏好動態內容的互動功能,但會有資訊遺漏的煩惱。3.使用者偏好具有情境脈絡的文章需採用靜態內容呈現。
