The purpose of this thesis is to establish models and principles for designing and developing case - based learning materials in computer education filed, and to apply them to develop some real examples.
The process of this research are: first, to review related literature of case - based instruction, including past development, conceptual foundations, features, and related researches; second, to establish material development models and principles; third, to develop case - based materials using models and principles; and fourth, to transform paper - based learning materials to computer - based learing materials.
This research provide two models for case - based material development: network - based case map model and stack - based case map models, story - based case material and question - based case material were developed.
This research has 8 story - based and 8 question - based cases about computer network concepts. These 16 cases were transformed into computer - based cases.
Further researches could apply the models and the principles to develop other topics, evaluate the usability of case - based materials; elaborate case map models and principles; any try to develop multi - cases, case indexing, case retrieval, and user interface.
