雖然在世之時並未以作曲家身份受到世人的賞識，巴赫（Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750）的作品對後世影響相當深遠，其作品不僅數量龐大，更包含除歌劇之外各種音樂型態；雖然多數作品為應雇主要求、音樂會或教學等需求所做，然而在其內涵上仍精益求精，拓展音樂作品中對器樂的技巧要求、音樂的形式、深度以及品質等更加寬廣的層面。
本研究主題b小調組曲作品1067（Suite in b minor, BMV1067），為巴赫目前留存僅有的四首管弦樂組曲之第二首，亦為其大量作品中僅有之十二首以長笛為主奏樂器的作品之一，為長笛演奏曲目中相當重要之一環。 b小調組曲採用之曲式型態為法國宮廷舞曲組曲，由於此一曲式巴赫多數器樂作品中皆加以採用，並占其長笛作品之絕大部分，足見此一曲式值得深入研究探討。
本研究中，將b小調組曲之相關背景與內涵，分為巴赫的創作與時代背景、曲式分析以及詮釋分析等層面，於各章節加以討論。
第一章為作曲家生平簡介，整體性探究巴赫生平學習以及創作的各個時期，並著重於器樂曲以及管弦樂組曲的創作，加以研究b小調組曲於巴赫作品中之重要性。
第二章為作品背景，就組曲以及法國宮廷舞曲發展的背景及傳播方式，討論其曲式之時代重要性，並進一步研究b小調組曲之創作背景。
第三章為曲式分析，針對其中序曲及各種舞曲的背景、舞步以及特色等內涵，以及其組合而成之器樂組曲，作更加深入的分析與探討。
第四章則就演奏詮釋之層面，分為音樂表現詮釋、運舌以及裝飾音三大方面，加以討論巴洛克時代的風格與詮釋方式。
