The purposes of the research were to understand (1) the concepts of the separation-attachment relationship, (2) the developmental states of the separation-attachment relationship, and (3) the transition of the separation-attachment relationship between the adolescence and the mother.
The theoretical background to the life history were hermeneutics and postmodern critical theory. First, the researcher constructed the pre-understanding for these preceding concepts of the separation-attachment. Analyzing the collected file data and visiting data. The researcher corrected and increased the content of these preceding concepts.
The result of this research constructed some new concept for the preceding concept. The need for control will lead the adolescence into the development of the separation—individuation process. And the need for security will lead the adolescence into the development of the attachment process. There are 9 developmental states for the female suicide adolescence and 7 stages in the transition of the separation -- attachment relationship between the female suicide adolescence and the mother. Finally, the researcher wrote a life history of the female suicide adolescence for fitting those constructed new concepts.
