本研究主要利用FRBR模式和知識本體技術來分析博碩士論文，進而建立博碩士論文知識關連模式，並選擇圖書資訊學博碩士論文為例來實證其模式。FRBR模式主要是描述以書為中心之書目架構，列出很多書籍作品間及與其他相關物件之關連，但缺乏其他相關物件間關連探討，另外由於書籍關連複雜，故現今研究多針對作品和內容版本之關連探討，較少探討書籍間其他關連。本研究以較簡單作品-博碩士論文來探討FRBR模式之完整應用，並針對關鍵字、論文作者間建立其專屬知識本體，然後整合建立博碩士論文之知識關連模式。
本研究建立博碩士論文之知識關連模式，模式中之知識關連包括論文姐妹關連、後續研究關連、引文關連等，另外本研究以知識本體技術建立其他知識關連，在關鍵字知識本體中建有上下位關連、近義關連和相似關連；論文作者知識本體則建立師生關連和主題相似關連。本研究透過博碩士論文知識關連模式，來分析圖書資訊學博碩士論文資料，藉以瞭解圖書資訊學之學科發展與知識關連。研究成果以三個方面說明，首先說明FRBR和知識本體之研究成果，然後再透過兩種技術所建立之博碩士論文知識關連模式，來說明在圖書資訊學方面之發現，最後依研究成果提出九點建議供參考。
