近年來隨著科技的進步,資訊傳遞由紙本轉為電子形式,但學術界長久以來受限出版社的授權機制,導致學術傳播的不自由,也因此促成開放取用的發展。而做為開放取用精神的具體實踐方法之一,大約自2000年起,國內外各大學開始建置自己的機構典藏,希望能成為展示與傳播各校學術研究成果的平台。
目前國內關於機構典藏的研究多為建置前的使用者研究,較無針對機構典藏正式營運後之使用情況進行研究。因此本研究以半結構式訪談法為主,探討臺大電資學院教師進行研究與備課之學術工作模式,及其對NTUR的認知與態度,最後將記錄內容加以編碼分析,為機構典藏的經營與推廣提出建議。
本研究結果顯示,電資學院教師的研究歷程大致可分為:產生動機、收集資料、定義問題、提出解決方法、進行實驗分析、撰寫發表研究成果等六步驟;備課過程則包括:產生開課主題與大綱、收集資料、編寫上課講義等三步驟。
而電資學院教師參與使用NTUR之正面考量為:系統使用方便易學、確保資料的可尋獲性、提高研究能見度及引用率、統一展示研究成果、建構社會網絡等;反面考量則包括:行政體系不支援、資料典藏範圍的侷限、有固定習慣的資源管道、著作權的問題、增加學術工作負擔、對文件品質的疑慮等。
另一方面,電資學院教師期望NTUR能在學術工作中的「產生動機」、「收集資料」、「進行實驗分析」等階段提供協助,並從發展政策、系統功能設計、內容提交制度、圖書館推廣活動等四方面針對NTUR的未來發展提出建議。
總結研究結果分析,本研究為圖書館經營推廣機構典藏歸納七點建議:確實瞭解各領域研究人員之資訊需求、增加以「主題」分類的瀏覽方式、整合現有研究成果提交管道、加強宣導出版社著作權政策詳表、學科館員親至院系說明推廣機構典藏、將機構典藏納入圖書館利用教育、積極發展跨機構之機構典藏平台。
