This paper discusses the curatorial content of this photography exhibition and the experience of the Florence Biennale. The theme of the exhibition is "Dream", which combines the psychedelia of surrealism with the conceptualization of the inner recesses of the New Chinese Style, such as Diane Arbus's work, which is absurd and realistic, and Hiroshi Sugimoto's seascapes, which are calm and inner. Through the subjects and compositions of these two photographers, we continue to think about the relationship between photography and self. Being selected to participate in the 14th Florence Biennale, one of the three major biennials in Italy, pushed their horizons even higher, not only meeting many famous artists and curators, but also experiencing the culture of Florence, which is an experience that will enrich their photographic lives in the years to come.
The works in this exhibition are shot with a mixture of digital and negative film, attempting to use the elements of contemporary video and the surrealist approach derived from Dadaism, in the hope that the works are not only purely for appreciation, but also can interact with the viewers and provoke them to think about the meanings conveyed by the images.
