  • 本論文比較加強詞(intensity devices)在口說與書寫中文敘述文中的使
    用情形, 並探討口說與書寫中文有何相似及相異. 實驗結果顯示,口說與
    書寫的差別的確影響到加強詞的使用,口說中文使用加強詞的頻率較高.另
    外,性別這個因素也影響加強詞的使用,女性使用加強詞的頻率比男性高.
    其他諸如母語(mother tongue),主題(subject matter),及次序(
    production order)等因素則未發現對加強詞的使用有顯著性的影響.研究
    結果亦發現口說與書寫中文的確有所不同,兩者皆為情境化
    (contextualized),但其情境化分痛屬不同的層面.另一方面,口說中文使
    用加強詞的現象反映出口說中文未事先計畫 (unplanned),較不正式
    (informal),投入(involved),創新(innovative),片段(fragmented).反
    之,書寫中文則顯得經事先計畫(planned),較正式(formal),疏離
    (detached),保守(conservative),以及完整(integrated).除了以上的差
    異外,口說與書寫中文在使用加強詞方面亦有相似處,這可能導因於中文的
    結構本質及敘述文體為自發性的語言形式(spontaneous language
    producton).

    The present study surveys the different and similar use of
    intensity devices in spoken and written Chinese narratives and
    tries to explore the correlation between the use of intensity
    devices and the nature of spoken and written Chinese. Intensity
    is a gradient feature which emerges as a reaction to
    expecctation. In Chinese intensity finds its place at four
    different levels of Chinese grammar, i.e. prosodic,
    punctuational, lexical and syntactical. The results of the
    present study show that the distinction between speaking and
    writing does affect the use of intensity devices: speaking
    contains more intensity devices than writing. It is also found
    that the factor of sex has influence on the use of intensity
    devices. Other factors such as mother tongue, subject matter,
    and production order reveal no significant influence on the use
    of intensity devices. The use of intensity devices may reflect
    more general differences between spoken and written Chinese.
    First, the use of intensity devices suggests that both spoken
    and written Chinese are contextualized. Moreover, the typical
    use of intensitiy devices in spoken narratives reflects spoken
    Chinese as relatively more unplanned, informal, involved,
    innovative and fragmented. Differences asides, it is also found
    that there exist certain similarities in the use of intensity
    devices between spoken and written Chinese narratives, which
    may be due to the nature of Chinese structure and narraatives
    as spontaneous language production.
