    Abstract
The purpose of this study was to compare the differences of health conception and physical fitness between regular and non-regular exercise postmenopausal women. Thirty nine subjects of regular exercise group (REG, exercise at least 3 days a week and 30 minutes each time) and another 39 subjects of non-regular exercise group (NREG) were recruited and asked to perform the physical fitness test and conduct the health perception questionnaire. The physical fitness test included 30-second Chair Stand, Arm Curl, 2 Minute Step-in Place, Chair Sit and Reach Test and Back Scratch. The average age, height and weight of REG and NREG subjects was 61.47±8.63 yr; 155.71±4.01 cm; 56.77±7.56 Kg; respectively. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test and Pearson Product-Moment Correction and the results were followed:
    1. The functional, adaptive, and eudaimonistic aspects of health conception of REG were significantly better than that of NREG (P<.05); however, the clinical aspect was not different between two groups.
    2. The body mass Index (22.76±2.76 vs.24.64±3.71 ), 30-Second Chair Stand (20.95±3.88 vs. 17.13±3.37), 2 Minute Step-in-Place (104.97±11.52 vs. 95.95±17.97), and Chair Sit and Reach (9.71±9.81 vs. 3.87±8.05)Test of REG and NREG showed the significant difference (P<.05); however, the Chair Sit and Reach and Back Scratch had no difference between two groups.
    3. The correlations between the health concept and 30-Second Chair Stand (r=0.708), Arm Curl (r=0.607), 2 Minutes Step-in-Place (r=0.820), Chair Sit and Reach (r=0.911), Back Scratch (r=0.911) of REG reached the significant level (P<.05); however, there were no significant correlations existed between the health concept and physical fitness of NREG.
The regular exercise postmenopausal women had better health conception and lower-extremity related physical fitness than that of non-regular exercise ones; therefore, the older women were encouraged to engage in regular exercise.
Key words: post-menopause, regular exercise, health conception, physical fitness.
