高爾夫球桿影響球速度的主要兩個因素為桿身勁度及桿頭硬度,對於桿身與桿頭製造,一般市面高爾夫球桿製造商均屬分別製作後再重組在一起,因此市場上桿身製造商與桿頭製造商分別就其產品做誇耀之宣傳,然桿身與桿頭對於高爾夫揮桿擊球時是否會因不同揮桿速度分別在擊球速度與球速度產生不同之影響,目前研究並無一明確結果。
本研究目的主要在探討桿身勁度、桿頭硬度在不同揮桿速度對撞擊時球速上之影響,將兩種不同勁度的碳纖維桿身勁度R、勁度L分別裝上兩種不同硬度碳纖維桿頭、鈦合金桿頭共四支的一號木桿,一位業餘高爾夫選手,揮桿速度分別35 m/sec、45m/sec情況下進行球桿測試。結果顯示:桿身的勁度會就其材料在所能承受負載的範圍內,依據作用力的大小而呈現不同程度的彎曲變形,桿身勁度的強、弱會影響桿身彎曲角度的變化,但不會因為揮桿速度快、慢而改變其材料特性,會因揮桿速度影響力作用在桿身的時間,造成桿身角度變化在快揮桿比慢揮桿時小。桿頭產生最大速度之處非在桿身彎曲角度最小處與撞擊瞬間處;撞擊前桿頭速度會影響球之速度。桿身勁度可能會影響撞擊時的球速度,桿身勁度在慢揮桿速度下,桿身勁度軟者對球速度效應比桿身勁度硬較佳,但在快揮桿速度下,桿身勁度軟、硬對球速度效應並無差異。桿頭硬度在不同揮桿速度情況下並不影響撞擊時的球速度,但桿身勁度軟者與桿頭硬度會因為揮桿速度而產生交互作用。
研究結果建議,揮桿速度慢者,應優先選擇桿身勁度軟者比選擇桿頭材質強度對擊出後球速度之利益較佳,而揮桿速度強者不需要考慮桿身勁度與桿頭材質強度,應加強揮桿的速度。
The two major parts in golf club affect the ball velocity are club shaft and club- head. In general the club shaft and club head are made seperately and it is the golf club manufacturers who put these two parts together to make a club. For this reason, the shaft manufacturers and club head manufacturers often exaggerate their individual effect on the golf performance. However, there is little research on the effect of the shaft and the club head on the ball speed when the club hit the ball.
The purpose of this study was to investigate 1) the influence of the bending stiffness of the golf shaft in different swing speed on the velocity of the ball, and 2) the influence of different club-heads in different swing speed on the velocity of the ball. Four different drivers made up of two different shaft stiffness (R-stiff, L-flexible) and club head (Titanium, Graphite) were used in the experiment. The participant was an amateur golfer and the swing speed was controlled in 35 m/sec and 45m/sec to test the clubs. The results showed that the shaft stiffness affected the bending degree of the shaft. The influence of different swing speed affected the duration of the force act on the clubs. The fast swing had little variation in shaft bending level than the slow swing. The speed of the club head affected the ball speed before impact. The shaft stiffness influenced the ball speed. The flexible shaft in slow swing speed had better advantage than the stiff one, but in fast swing speed different kinds of the shaft stiffness did not have significant effects on the ball speed. For the different kinds of swing speed the material of club head also make no significant effects on the ball speed. But the flexible shaft had the interaction in the material of club head for the swing speed. According to these results a golfer with a weak swing should use the flexible shaft to store more elastic energy in order to add the ball speed after impact. A golfer with a strong swing only needed to focus on the speed of club head because the shaft stiffness and club head material had little effect on the performance.
