In the digital age, the way of publics receiving news is diverse. Life is filled with all kinds of information. People may not always receive the correct information. Many false and incorrect reports appear repeatedly in news media. Therefore, news credibility has become an important factor in the public's choice of news and plays a key role in the value of news.
The study uses medical news as an example, and applies two factors between-subjects design: 2 (professional source: official source/professional) × 2 (content presentation form: text with picture/text with informational graphics). The news credibility is a dependent variable. There are four kinds of experimental combinations in total. By conducting the experiment, we understand how the influence factors of professional sources and content presentation form affect the news credibility.
The results show that different professional sources effect significantly on the news credibility, and the influence from professional is higher than official sources. Different content presentation form has no significant effect on the news credibility. Besides, professional source and content presentation form doesn’t have significant interaction effect on the news credibility.
