When facing undetermined physical illness, waiting in the waiting room could be stressful. It is true that the patient experience is mostly influenced by time spending in the waiting room. Patients’ negative feelings, together with crowded and noisy environment, also made negative impact to employee. Providing natural images, shifting attention, dealing with the fear of unknown, may be the solutions for waiting anxiety. Additionally, inspired by the microscopic images of human respiratory specimen, I created an illustrative artwork “Escape Project”, a runaway story of three respiratory cells, to reflect the feelings while waiting or working in the waiting room. After showcasing, we discussed the communication function of these art work from the perspectives of observer, and how health care workers, as an art creator, could provide his/her point of view. All these efforts were expected to provide a warmer health-care environment by the means of art creation.
