Knowledge sharing has become more and more important and become a key concern to organizations. The sharing of knowledge between individuals or within organization is one of the conditions for development of an organization. A case study in Research Institute for Aquaculture No3 (RIA3), Vietnam will be examined in this research.
First, this study aims to investigate the interactions and communications of employees to get knowledge in scientific community. Because the process of knowledge sharing are dynamic and complex, and there is no a well-defined framework, an explorative research that used qualitative research method was carried out.
Second, from literature review, it is founded that knowledge sharing is affected by many factors. In order to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience among scientific communities, the purpose of project is to explore how the organizational factors affect knowledge sharing processes. Hence, this study emphasizes the influence of three main factors: working environment, leadership, and technology. The qualitative research consists of in-depth interviews to explore the relationship between organizational factors and knowledge sharing in academic researchers.
The results of this research present the limitations of organizational factors which impact on knowledge sharing. These results can help RIA3 bridge the gaps in management way in order to create, share, and use knowledge more effectively. Furthermore, they will be a dynamic in creating a good working environment to meet demands of institutional researchers in science, technology, culture, society, economy, etc. by fast searching, exploring and sharing information and knowledge.
