本研究旨在探討台灣國中小學應用網路協助教學的現況及方式,分析其面臨的障礙,並與其他國家比較,期使網路在學校能更妥善地發揮其潛能。在文獻探討中,首先探討各國推動學校網路環境之概況,接著瞭解電腦網路在國內外中小學的應用與問題,最後討論相關調查研究之方法。
依據文獻探討結果,本研究採取問卷調查、觀察學校網站及實地訪談三個方法進行。問卷調查抽樣調查全國300所國小、320所國中的電腦管理教師及校長的意見,並選取15所國小、15所國中的學校網站作內容分析,最後實地訪談五所國小、三所國中的27位電腦管理教師及應用網路協助教學的學科教師作更深入的瞭解。
研究結果發現國中小學應用網路協助教學的情形並不理想,以取用網路資源為最常見的利用方式。教師們肯定應用電腦網路對提升教學品質的貢獻,但也表示需防範學生接觸不正確或不恰當的資訊。我們並歸納出利用網路協助教學的七大障礙分別是:硬體及經費問題、教師應用電腦網路的意願不高、缺乏應用網路協助教學的環境、網路教學資源質與量皆不足、難以配合現行課程目標及進度、升學主義阻礙教學的開放性、學校缺乏充足的資訊人力支援。
所以,建議教育當局能明訂學校專責資訊單位,調整課程內容及教師結構。並建議學校能創造便利網路教學的環境,鼓勵教師利用網路協助教學,且在網路上共享教學資源。使電腦網路能更確實地在教學上發揮其作用。
